Boxing Day Celebration
In which I participate in an activity for boxing day. The day was a real knockout even though no punches were thrown.

Let’s Get Ready To Rumble
TIL: Boxing Day is about celebrating, rest, and shopping. At least that’s what I want to believe. I did my part, hitting four different stores in one trip.
The height of the adventure was at one of the grocery stores. I’m on a dried fruit kick and was in the store for apricots when I saw chili lime craisins. Loving craisins, I was intrigued but unsure.
I turned to a woman shopping across the aisle and asked her opinion. She was also unsure, commenting, “I wish there were samples.” I’m the kind of guy who makes wishes come true, so I proposed a solution. We open the bag and try them; whoever likes them can buy them. If no one does, we play rock-paper-scissors to see who is gets the honor.
Why did the cranberry blush? Because it saw the turkey dressing.1
The craisins were decent. My partner in crime ended up buying them. I would have, but I wanted to stick to the list of goods I came for.
Rest
I spent most of the day resting. I have ADHD and bipolar disorder. Suffice it to say, I like to move. Most days, I get at least 30 minutes of solid exercise. Running, swimming, lifting, stretching, all the ings.
I limited myself today, just over 6k steps and some light stretching. Resting more is a thing I’m working on. Winter is a good time for it. Tomorrow it’s back to the gym.
Spice Wars
I am making my own fajita seasoning blend. Not for sale, for personal use. I have two others that don’t hit the way I want. Today was my first attempt.
I had my daughter taste-test mine against the other two. She ranked me third. It could be worse, she did say she liked it before I told her which it was.
I’m not giving up. I’m somewhat of a mixologist with liquids. I don’t smoke meats. I like the idea of crafting my own spice blends.
I did a bunch of writing as well. No spoilers or previews. Suffice it to say, I’m having fun playing with words and hope you’ll be back to see what I’ve been up to.
Till next time. 👋
