Games with Younglings
My request of the kids this holiday season was one meal and some game time. The game was a gift I got from Raistlin: The Fellowship of the Ring: Trick-Taking Game.
It was everything the reviews built it up to be. It was both beautiful and easy to learn. You play through a series of chapters that make up the story. This changes the mechanics and goals as you play. It gets extra points from me for being a cooperative game.
10/10 would recommend to all my gamer friends reading this.
Tune In To This
The channel I’ve been watching this week is Forbidden Gnosis. It’s primarily about Carl Jung’s interpretation of Gnosticism, seen in the context of his own theories on individuation, ego, and the subconscious.
Fitness Snacks
I revamp my exercise routine seasonally. It builds lifelong full-body functional fitness. It keeps me from getting bored too. This winter, my focus is on calisthenics at Crunch Fitness on Saturday mornings.
Last weekend I did 100 pull-ups and 400 push-ups. It took a long time, and I’ve been sore ever since. A few years ago, I struggled to do any pull-ups.
I had half a mind to do the same amount today. My body and the other half of my mind said no. I made it halfway. Not every visit can be a record-breaker.
Believe
The path to believing in yourself lies in doing hard things. That is how you find your limits.
These things demand failure. In failure, we learn that even when we fail, we survive.
The reward is living a better life.
Until next time.
